Tall Firemen

Many years ago, a DH125 was held in the local area at Luton.

To allow the airspeed to be kept at the holding speed, the flaps were lowered, but the undercarriage kept retracted.

To stop the undercarriage warning from irritating everyone, the circuit breaker was pulled.

Needless to say, the ensuing landing was made with the undercarriage retracted.

The aircraft skidded to a stop close the the fire station and the fire crew were rapidly in attendance.

Looking out at the fire crew from a vantage point several feet lower than normal, the Captain turned to the Co-Pilot and said "Don't they have tall firemen at Luton?".
